SAE Alumni Convention 2012

This week I attended the SAE Alumni Convention. This year there were a lot of seminars and workshops for web design and development. In a tight schedule over 2 days I learned cool Photoshop and Fireworks techniques, got an introduction to jQuery Mobile, responsive web design and CSS precompressors (LESS, SASS & etc.) and I had a 90 minutes lesson on CSS3 animations and 3D techniques, which was definitely one of my personal highlights. Calvin Hollywood did also a lecture, where he talked about his success, social media and as well shared some great tips on how to become successful and to stand out from the crowd. Seeing and hearing all the young speakers and some savvy, professional designers, artist and developers was an inspiring experience and I am already looking forward for the next convention.

These pictures were taking this summer when I went with my family to the south of France in July and later to Usedom, close to Poland. Couple of shots are also from Berlin.

Music that saves the day: Sly & the Family Stone

For over ten years I have always payed attention to what Osunlade and his label, Yoruba Soul, are doing. Couple of months ago, after Osunlade released his latest album, Pyrography, he said that the album was his last house production for now. He explanes that he just want to see where the house scene is going and concentrate more on his roots in jazz, funk and soul. So last week he uploaded a Yoruba Soul radio show on Soundcloud, featuring only songs by Sly & the family Stone. This show is the 84 from the Youruba Soul and it made my day, today! Continue reading
